Lawyers Are Even More Miserable Than We Knew

Ed. note: Welcome to our daily feature, Quote of the Day.

It shows that the issues were worse than we thought. The levels of distress were higher than we knew.

Patrick Krill, co-author of a new national study on lawyer wellness, in comments given to Reuters, concerning the troubling state of mental health within the legal profession. The study, which surveyed more than 37,000 lawyers, found that nearly 22% reported moderate to severe symptoms of depression, while more than 20% reported moderate to severe anxiety, and nearly 19% reported moderate to severe stress. More than 41% said their time in the legal profession had been “detrimental” to their mental health.
